A Brief History of Liquid Crystal Displays In Other Words, Your Alarm Clock

Color lcd displays

Not too many people understand the background of a liquid crystal display, also known as LCD modules, or even that it is liquids and crystals which they are looking at one their alarm clock in the morning. Custom Liquid crystal displays, which are also known as custom LCD panels or custom color lcds, can actually be quite unique for anyone who is looking for a liquid crystal display which fits his or her own unique personality.

Custom lcd displays have been around for a long time. However, it was not until the 1970s and 1980s that custom LCDs or LCD modules began to become prolific. Custom LCD displays had been used as early as the 1930s for lights, but it was in the latter half of the 20th century when they would take on their most practical and important uses in clocks and other measuring devices.

LCD modules are useful for measurements as there is not as much room for human error. People who use them do not have to go through the process of converting the numbers from the arms of a meter to the paper. The numbers are clearly on digital display and need no mediation. This does not mean that there is no room for improvement on LCD modules, but they will probably continue to be in use because they combine simplicity and practicality.
